Are there really “negative” energies?

Or, is it all about perception?

We have all said it at one time or another, “Oh my, I’ve got to get away from all this negative energy!” Well, is it really negative energy, or are we projecting or perceiving it to be so? This is a great debate among spiritualists and I’d like to offer my opinion on it. In short, my answer is perhaps a little bit of both. Here’s why:

First off, it is very common for our own energy to project onto persons, places, and yep- even things. Our moods; what’s on our minds, can certainly influence our environment, hence what we may perceive. If we ourselves are negative, we will see a lot of negative. The same is true if we are positive- we would see more positive.

Moving right along, let’s look at a “negative” presence. I’m sure we’ve all seen the “Eeyore types,” (the character from Winnie the Pooh,) who are always down and always stuck in a bad mood, seeing everything as icky.

Is it us or them?

Both still!

Why? Because even people who appear to be full of strife and never-ending drama, hold beauty inside them. Just as how one perceives a storm. Some of us marvel in the beauty of the lightning while others are frightened by its power and potential damage. When we look at others as a perfect act of nature (like a storm,) we will no longer have the capacity to fear it, loathe it, or judge it. And maybe even appreciate it.

With all that being said, there is a paradox to this, because if we believe in Balance, (which I do,) how can negative exist without positive?

Simply put, it can’t.

So, in conclusion, maybe, just maybe, the negative is there so we might KNOW positive AND learn to accept negative; or, rather, the perception of it.

…Then again, perhaps neither exist!
